Short Stories: Discovering FictionThroughout this unit we will be studying the short story genre. Short stories are much shorter or more concise than novels. Like the authors of novels, authors of short stories have a purpose for what they are writing. Authors may want you to learn a life lesson or get you to think about something from a different perspective. In other words, short story writers want you to gain knowledge from their stories, and they get to the point very quickly. While you are reading, try to think about how these stories connect to your life. Then, try to think about how they can connect to the world. Happy reading! I look forward to your discoveries!
